It's short and sassy......1-21-2012

Before the cut!
So, she's been begging me to cut her hair and I kept saying, NO! By no means am I cutting it short! LOL

Well, I decided to eat those words last Saturday. Hey, It's only hair and it WILL grow back..

The amount I cut off!

The cut she wanted!

So, here it is, cut!

and here we are styled!

She has such THICK hair, I wasn't sure how it would work this short, but she loves it! At least we can still put it in a pony tail and that's what counts since it's basketball season!

Lil Dribblers Basketball....our first games...TODAY

Our photography company is sponsoring Ariel's team this year, so here is the back of the uniforms.

They are the Tigers.

We won our first game in overtime ( and it was tuff), but it was 22-20 at the end.
And the front of our uniforms. I love the Tigers font.

Such cuteness.

Jan. 16th, 2012 Ariel's Birthday with friends....Artist Party

Art Palette Cake
Ariel's passion is painting. So, we came up with a painting party. I purchased paint boards and paint (and of course I already had tons of brushes, because my passion is painting also.
Ariel and her paint board.
Here is her painting. She didn't actually finish it completely before the party was over, but she had a blast. We were actually doing name boards, but I failed to get a picture of everyone's when they were finished.
She received some cute and artsy gifts.

Daddy Jack's Service.......1-13-2012

There was no graveside service for Daddy Jack. Some of the family still went out there to see the burial.
Ariel on the other hand wanted to see it also, and I think she just needed closure for the whole thing, and that was fine!

Clint, Drew, Dustin, Donald and Bobby (also Uncle Gene) carried the casket at
the Cemetary.

Lots of pretty flower sprays.

He still worked his garden up until around 2006 or so.
This was a beautiful vegetable spray depickting his love for the garden and growing his own vegetables.
I believe there is some sugar cane pieces in there also that actually came from the garden. He continued to grow cane, even after he wasn't planting his garden anymore.

Daddy Jack was called home with his Heavenly Father --January 10th, 2012

Mamaline, Ariel and Daddy Jack
Christmas Eve 2011

Ariel and Daddy Jack headed to the garden..June 2005
Ariel was 3 1/2 years old

Ariel and Daddy Jack
He was still working his garden at 90 years old.

I'm not sure what the conversation was about, but I just love this picture!

Ariel with Mamaline and Daddy Jack
July 2005
Daddy Jack (grandfather on Bobby's side) passed away yesterday at the age of 97. We are all very sad to see this happen, but know he's in a better place now.
Mamaline will miss him greatly as well as the rest of the family.
We were VERY fortunate to have him all these years.

We always spent Sundays after Church at their house and Ariel always loved whatever they had to eat from the garden. Tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, oakra and cucumbers. She learned all about these foods from these two great-grandparents. He will be deeply missed.

and......finally.....some new furniture!

AWESOME.....is what I have to say about this..Since our remodel 2 years ago (or somewhere about that) we have really been furniture poor-to say the least!

Well, we finally had a little time to shop last weekend and found some and when we went back yesterday, found another store and bought it! Found a great deal, so we felt like God led us down this road to discover a better deal than what we found last weekend!
I just about hurt my wrist trying to help Bobby carry this in at 10.30 last night and get the old furniture out of the house! Good thing we did carry the old furniture to the shop, because we found that Scatter cat had been locked in the shop all day (about 8 hours) and was ready to ESCAPE that place!
Love Seat!

Ariel's new book chair!

I have been looking for Ariel a special chair to sit and read from, so that she can concentrate on her reading (and maybe homework also).

We FINALLY located this awesome chair in Dallas, so now to get her sitting there without falling asleep!

Friends....jumping on the trampoline!

Caroline and Ariel
This is Ariels Christmas present from Santa. She jumps almost every day.

Such fun!

12-24-2011 Christmas Eve at Granny's house...

We have always had Christmas with the Parr's on Christmas Eve.

My Mil and Fil make a huge thing of beef and chicken fajitas and all the fixings for the entire family. It's a big one.

We open gifts from the youngest to oldest...
We have always taken pictures in front of the tree...hmmmm, maybe I should dig out all those pictures from year to year and compare! YIKES, not sure I want to see myself back then..
And here is Ariel with the Great grand parents..
AKA, Mamaline and Daddy Jack. They are in their 90's and aren't able to come sit with us to open gifts, so we took them back there (in the same house) to their room and let them open our gifts to them.
We (several family members) went in together and bought them a digital picture frame and uploaded family pictures on there for them to view.

12-23-2011

I took Ariel by my Moms grave and we put out some pretty red flowers. OH, how I miss her!

It was just Ariel and I, so I took her picture.....
and she took mine...yes, it was cold and sprinkling...My mom's favorite color was RED!
