Ariel's shirt for the first day of school...
Ariel's lunchbox for this school year. 2012-2013
School supplies for the 5th Grade. Not much. They will be using Netbooks, so didn't need much!
Breakfast of the Champions. Her request was chocolate muffins (made with a chocolate cake mix and a can of pumpkin (not pie filling either) These are SO yummy, right out of the oven.
She needed her fruit also.
And here she is....Such a beautiful girl, inside and out!
She wanted me to walk her in and I said, "are you sure"? but yes, I did! 5th grades go straight to the old gym. I guess she's gotta get used to not playing on the playground this year. She's growing up!

Meet the Teacher....8-23-2012
We'll, we went to Meet the teacher and we didn't need to meet our Teacher! LOL
It turns out she was Ariel's Kindgergarden Teacher, so we already knew her! HAHA! (big joke)
Ariel loves Ms. Blackard and is good friends with her daughter, Caroline as well.
It's gonna be a good year!

Ear's Pierced AGAIN....8-17-2012
I love the fact that I have a girl that is "girly" and likes to "shop" (well she does now, but didn't used to! Oh, geez, I might be in trouble in a few more years )
We had her ears pierced between kinder and first, but they just weren't right. You couldn't get earrings back in. It seems the piercing wasn't straight and it was painful, so she let them grown up.
We were shopping in Texarkana recently and I said, do you want to get the pierced again? No questions about it, she said "YES". So we did.
We done a little shopping for back to school also! She won out on some new tennis shoes, jeans, capris, Aeropostle jacket and lime green jeans! Yep, it's what she wanted!

Garden of the Gods
We stayed at the Garden of the Gods campground. It had changed since we had stayed there last. There was NO room outside your front door to sit! IT was crazy. I don't think we'd stay here next time.
We drove thru the Garden of the Gods. We didn't have time to stop and see the balancing rock, but I managed to snap a photo as we went by it.
It's an AMAZING site!

Fan Fest-- August 11th, 2012
Ariel posing with a pace car (I think) at Fan Fest. This sure brought back alot of memories.
We haven't been back to race Pikes Peak since Ariel was 18 months old (so 9 years ago).
Bobby is having with-drawls now! He wants to go back and race it.
Pikes Peak is now paved all the way to the summit! (and it wasn't when he set his record-it was partially paved, but mostly dirt)
Bobby talking to Mike Ryan, the driver of the diesel truck that races to the summit of Pikes Peak!
Wish we could have seen his run, but we had to get on the road as soon as we finished watching/shooting the quads take off from the starting line.
Too many hours to travel home, but there was several wrecks with the cars and then bad weather moved in, so they had to move the finish line down the mountain.

Next stop....Cave of the winds...
Ariel loved the bear outside of the Cave of the winds. She had a hard time getting on him, and a harder time falling off! HaHa!
Colorado is just beautiful! We had the best weather when we came out of the tour here! I sure wish we had weather like this in Texas! (no chance at all though)

Colorado...we have arrived!
We arrived on Wed. morning after driving straight thru with 14 hours on the road! We were definately tired when we arrived at 3 am! Bobby didn't even sleep. He headed straight up the mountain to take pictures! Me and Ariel hit the bed!
After about 4-5 hours sleep, she was up and ready to ride her bike. We stayed at the Garden of the Gods campground. It has some nice riding areas, plus a trail to the skate park!
We did get to venture out (besides the work we were there to do) and took Ariel to 7-Falls. This is Ariel with the Indian dancers that performed there.
This is the 3 of us-atop the 7 Falls stairs we climbed! Yes, we climbed ALL the way to the top of the falls!
And this is Ariel at the bottom of the steps we climbed. The picture just doesn't do the steps any justice! It was 368 steps up and down total! Yes, my legs were like jelly when I got to the top and I was SO out of breath! We are So not used to the altitude there!

Parasailing......August 2012
This is the place they parasailed from. We definately weren't happy when they returned and told us they didn't even stay up 5 min.So sad for the amount of money we spent!
Ariel is ready to go!
Leaving out on the boat!

Beach Trip-July 28th, 2012
We arrived at the Shipwatch Condo after 10 hours of traveling. This is where we always stay when we travel to the beach.
Ariel already making some sand castles.
This is just one of the sand castles the crew builds.
